Scout Advancement

 Scout Advancement

When scouts join the troop their first goal is to achieve the Scout rank.

If you have already completed these requirements as part of the Webelos Scouting Adventure, simply demonstrate your knowledge or skills to your Scoutmaster or other designated leader after joining the troop.

Scout advancement occurs when requirements for that level are fulfilled. In Boy Scouts, this is referred to as rank advancement. Exciting and meaningful activities are offered, and education happens

Scouts plan their own advancement and progress at their own pace as they meet each challenge. They are recognized and rewarded for each achievement, which helps them gain self-confidence. These steps in the advancement system help a Scout grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others.

Details of the requirements for rank are listed in the back of your Boy Scout Handbook.
